The ASEM Education Process celebrates its 10th Anniversary in 2017. On this occasion, the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) will organise the 2nd ASEF Young Leaders Summit (ASEFYLS2) on 4-8 May 2017 in Seoul, Korea, in conjunction with the 6th ASEM Education Ministers’ Meeting (ASEM ME6).
Themed “Access to Youth Employment”, ASEFYLS2 will bring together up to 150 youth participants from 51 Asian and European countries, including students, entrepreneurs, academics, young civil/public servants and professionals of all disciplines. The 4-day conference comprises various meeting and training formats; for example, skills workshops, panel discussions and human libraries. We also plan a dialogue session between the ASEM Education Ministers and the young leaders. The participants will explore the topic of “Access to Youth Employment” from 8 thematic angles: 1) age, 2) education, 3) disability, 4) finance, 5) gender, 6) location, 7) social background and 8) technology.
The ASEFYLS2 tackles core issues linked to ASEM ME6, including Education in the 4th Industrial Revolution and Employability for Future Generations, and addresses the SDGs 4, 5, 8 and 9. We believe that this project would be a great opportunity for students and young professionals from all ASEM countries, and we warmly encourage them to apply through the Open Call for Application. The deadline is Monday, 20 March 2017, 23:59 GMT.
